Property developer group Neo Victoria Developments [PTY] Ltd, which was contracted to build the five-storey apartment building that collapsed in Victoria Street, George, on Monday, said the deadly incident was "unfortunate", but it would be cooperating with the authorities during the investigation.
Of the 37 people retrieved from the rubble, eight are dead.
According to authorities, there are still 44 people stuck under the heavy rubble.
